Promoted posts are a simple way to create eye-catching ads that will help you boost traffic to your eCommerce website.

This can be done by boosting an existing social post and turning it into an ad.

They are pretty similar to regular Facebook and Instagram ads, with two exceptions:

  1. Promoted posts are faster and easier to create - Instead of creating an ad from scratch, you can promote existing social posts with just a few clicks.

This can save you a lot of time and effort.

  2. Promoted posts display existing engagement - Posts with "organic" likes, comments, and shares will show that engagement once you promote them, unlike regular ads that start collecting them from scratch.

This makes the ads more eye-catching and the brand more reliable.

To use a post as a promoted post, it must match the following:

  • Posts must include a single image or video - Unfortunately, due to Facebook's current restrictions, it is only possible to promote single images and videos through AdScale.

  • Posts must not include a tagged item - Posts that have tagged items using Facebook and Instagram shopping are not available to be used as promoted posts.

Facebook promoted post

To start, enter your Ads dashboard.

Click on the green Add button, and select Promoted post.

If you don't have the option to create a promoted post, it may mean that there are currently no social posts that are eligible to be promoted.

If your social pages contain eligible posts and you're still not seeing this option, please contact our support.

Select the campaign you want to create the promoted post under, as well as a name for the promoted post so it will be easy to find later.

Select the audience you want to target with your promoted post.

Next, Choose the post you wish to use as a promoted post.

The post has to contain a Call to action button (Shop now, learn more, etc.)

If it already contains a call to action button, click the desired post and click "Next".

If the post does not contain a call to action button, a popup will appear explaining how to add one.

To add a call to action button, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the link that's displayed in the popup, which will send you directly to the post settings on Facebook.

Alternatively, enter your Facebook business page. Locate the post you wish to promote, and click "Boost post"

  2. If you have access to several ad accounts, make sure the right one is selected in the top right corner.

  3. Choose the call to action button for your promoted post.

*Note: You can use any button other than "Call now", "Send message", and "Send WhatsApp message".

  4. Add a URL to the call to action button.

It can be your website's homepage, collection page, blog page, etc.

  5. Set a minimum number of days and budget for the post.

We are doing this because we want to add a call to action button, and this is only possible by promoting the post through Facebook.

Once we put a minimum budget, we ensure that the post will include a call to action button without running.

  6. Lastly, click "Boost post now".

Now you can select this post through AdScale, as it contains a call to action button.

*Note: The call to action button may take a few minutes to be added.
