In order to advertise on Google Shopping, there are few requirements that you need to meet, for your campaigns to be approved by Google. Google reviews the store website and products to make sure they follow all the guidelines before approving any advertising campaign. 

Approval of a Google Shopping campaign can take 3-5 business days if all the requirements are met, and can take longer if the website and products require updates.

This article will help you prepare your website and make sure you meet all of Google guidelines, to avoid any unnecessary delays with your Google Shopping campaign.

Full contact information

Google requires the store website to display sufficient contact information that includes:

  1. Contact Email
  2. Contact Phone Number
  3. Business Address

How to Solve? 

If you know how to add the contact information by yourself, by adding to the footer or creating a page with contact information, you can do so.

If you're not sure on how you can add contact information to your website, we can help you with that.

Here's how?

1. Below there is a line of code that will contain your entire contact information. What you need to do is change each attribute with your store information.

Here is the code template:

2. In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes and Edit Code.
3. Open theme.liquid and scroll down right to the bottom.
4. Copy/paste the code right before </body>.
5. Change all attributes to your store information.
6. click 'Save'.

Your contact information will now appear in the bottom of your footer. It should look something like this:

Return Policy

Your website must provide a clear return policy to your buyers, in order to be approved in Google Shopping.

Solution

If you don’t already have a return policy, you can easily create one using free policy generators.

For Shopify Users: 

  1.  Go to Settings > Checkout > Policies > Generate Sample Return Policy > Save.
  1. Copy the Return Policy content and save on a custom page.
  1. Create a link on the Footer menu.

Google has a few product categories that are not authorized to advertise on Google Shopping:
